The drivers on your install diskettes are way to antique for this
hardware. You might be able to get by with the recommended "Thinkpad"
diskettes. However, I would plan on switching to the DANI drivers and you
also might need the recommended OS2LDR update if the memory size decection
is not correct.

Nope. The error message is correct but misleading. When you press enter
is about the time the kernel enables the protected mode drivers. If this
disk driver can not handle your disk drive the results can vary, your
result is not atypical.
