I have just suffered through a somewhat similiar problem. I had
one drive in a chain of 3 acting up. I changed the HA, didn't fix
it. I changed ID's, I moved drives around. None of that worked.
My drives are all 35GB.
Changing the LVD cable/terminator finally may have fixed it, I
haven't had a problem now in about 2 weeks. I'd have to go another
2 weeks before I can say for certain. I don't see how the
cable/terminator could go bad. It was $70, ouch. For the record,
I also changed out the motherboard, for a different reason.
Kris:
Interesting comment about eCS version of chkdsk. I am running v1.2
but at one point I had booted to eCS 2 Beta and run a chkdsk. I
just checked and the version of chkdsk.com on the v2 beta 3 & eCS
v1.2 is the same. So why would it matter?
