I'm not trying to play MIDI files.  UNIAUD caused a TRAP so I went
back to SBLive.  As  I said, loads fine.  Hardware manager sees the
card.  It does share IRQs (11) with USB but, even if I rem out the USB
entries I still get the same problem so I don't think it is a
conflict.  I can't assign an IRQ in my BIOS.

The card is producing sounds but they sound just like pops & crackles
although the audio CDs are perfect.
