On 10 Jan 05 18:38:02, Dale Shipp got back to All -> Re: Search DS> Is there a command in 4NT that will search a file for a particular DS> string and then allow the string following that to be read? I don't use 4NT, but Norton works! DS> I have seen commands that allow looking for a file that contains a DS> string, but can't see that it does anything other than returning the DS> file name. FileFind, aka FF, finds the files with the text string. What's nice is that I can open that file and see the context around it to deterime if that is really the file I was looking for. DS> Explicitly I want to search a file for the string DS> Attachment COnverted: DS> and then take the string following that to use as a file name DS> parameter into another command. I can almost do that, but the ALT key and Norton don't like each other! --- OMX/Blue Wave/DOS v2.30* Origin: Soundly on the Fault Line (1:123/666.0) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/666 500 106/2000 633/267 |
