Hi Howard,
I gave up trying with all Asustek M2Nxxxxxxxx boards with their NVidia
chipsets - not only unable to get video drivers , but also unable to use
the NVidia MCPxxxx (Media and Communications Processor) units with their
PHY Gigabit network chip. If you are satisfied with 100Mbit networking,
the M2V series boards work perfectly with the onboard Realtek 8100B/C
using Veit Kannegeiser's RTL8139-family driver and if one has adequate
RAM fitted - up to a quarter of that RAM can be used for video with the
VIA-based boards with onboard VIA DeltaChrome** graphics - e.g. the
M2V-MX series - I have everything working stably and perfect IMHO -
except for the Azalea 6 (8?)way HDA - and AC97 codecs - but have been
far too busy and damaged (diplopia/strabismus - double vision to the
layman) to ichase that up - heck I never even had any souncard between
1979 and 1995!
** Can use a video frame-buffer of up to 256MB of the 2GB RAM fitted
here - I don't know what 3D-capable video applications anyone has
running under OS/2-eCS - but that video chipset is SUPER IMHO for our
OS/2 Technology!
Recommendation : use any M2V motherboard vice any M2N -- remember N for
Nvidia, V for VIA!!
Regards,
Mike
