Bur this is only one drive of the four on the same chain, so I don't
think it's a controller or termination problem.
I suppose it could be that the drive is deteriorating so quickly that
new problems arise between dfSee giving that partition a clean bill of
health and my trying to write to it under eCS.
I wish I could run Seagate's own diagnostics on the drive, but their
SCSI diagnostic tool is available only for Windozzze and Linux. Their
bootable CD with FreeDOS doesn't detect SCSI drives at all.
