I'd suggest 1.9.2 of Uniaud for any Analog Devices HDA 
devices (like you have).

That seems to give the best results with HDA.  The 
positive is that I'm much closer to understanding why the 
hangs occur :) ie I know what changed in 1.9.2 that helped 
HDA, and then what changed in 1.9.3 to break HDA :)
