Yes that's what I think.
I've not tested it myself as the machine is running here as server.
I also think this will most likely change in the future as we have Paul Smedley
and some other working on the Uniaud drivers right now. Paul is trying to sync
the current code with the Linux ALSA project.
I think when this is done there will be some progress.

No, only Intel (Speedstep) seems to be supported so far but I would like to see
Cool'n'Quite (or was it the other way around) and PowerNow! from AMD supported.
There is an application from Froloff, but it's not working and he'll not release
the sources. I already tried it that way.
If you want to restart it you need to get the Linux Kernel sources. The app he
created has been ported from one of the sources included in the Linux kernel
(powernow-k8).
I've posted something about it at the ACPI forum over here:
http://forum.ecomstation.ru/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=113
At the same thread I also added a link to the AMD with there linux frequency
driver. I would say porting this might be even better but I did only take a
quick look as I'm not really a C and device driver developer.

Yes with "ACPI v2.22" + "PSD=ACPI.PSD /SMP" + OS/2 SMP
Kernel you have a WORKING
SMP machine.
I hope the ACPI v3.0x will work again in the future. I've not yet tried to
contact Dimitry again to ask if he changed something to fix the problems.
Last time I asked (2.5 weeks ago) he said he might have something in two days.
Normally there should be something to test but right now I have not time for it.
