For a starter, a zip drive never will be seen  by the computer as drive  
A (or B).  OTOH,  an LS120 (or LS240)  always will be  drive A (or 
drive  B).  Because the firmware or better internal code build into the 
LS120/240 is the same as at a floppy drive, and it was done  explicitly 
so to have these drives seen as drive A (or B), all that in order to 
have these devices just like floppy drives.

Which means too they only can be formatted FAT16 at best -  as is the 
case  with floppy drives.

Incidentally, scsi ZIP (and Jaz and ORB ecc) drives are removables 
managed as fixed hard disks, as well as IDE ZIP (and Jaz and ORB ecc) 
when the proper IDEDASD drivers had been installed.

Anyway, these are devices of the past century and belonging to musea and 
industrial archeology.
