Considering why you use a UPS, I'd never gamble on a used one. I have 6 now,
and have had to retire about that many dead or otherwise inadequate ones.
Only one of the latter was an APC, which happened while in warranty, and I
gave that little one to my sister. Swollen batteries that are difficult or
impossible to remove seem to plague the non-APC products. As a consequence of
all the above, I'd never consider buying a used UPS, and doubt the small
savings justifies accepting a mere 90 day warranty. But then, I live in the
lightning capital of the world, and on a power grid fringe, and place more
reliance on a UPS than average.
