| subject: | Re: [OS2HW] OS2 compatible NAS |
Dear Mike, Thanks a lot for your info/howto. In my case it turned out to be even more simple. I can edit smb.conf with vi. Add the 'ea support = yes' line to the definitions for several shares. Save and reboot (didn't find the samba restart). The smb.conf doesn't get rewritten at startup. And the shares are usable from the WPS now. Then the next test was reconfiguring smb shares in the web interface. It turns out that 'ea support = yes' is not destroyed. This is miraculous, I can now merge the storage for all my systems in one place and stop bothering about the use of 4 different OS-es in my SOHO. I am using IBM Peer without problems, but I cannot get the Samba plugin under Netdrive to do the same trick. The smbcd.exe keeps crashing without a trace in the logfile. I am using Netdrive 3.1.0 (registered version) and the samba plugin is:ndpsmb-3.0.27a-20071129. >> >Frank, >Sorry for the late response.
