I am polishing my 16" 1 inch thick F5. Under it I have a sheet of
real astro turf. At least that is what it claimed to be. It was sold at
the hardware store as a door mat. It has a rubber backing and about
1" tall plastic grass on top. The grass is very stiff. When I put
the mirror on top of it it does not depress very much at all. On top of
that I placed a sheet of the non-skid rubber drawer liner. That keeps the
mirror from moving when I polish. I am doing the initial polishing using
polishing pads from Salem Distributing.

Now my question. I noticed that when I pull the tool back toward me (TOT)
that the mirror rocks slightly. The edge further away from me raises about
1/16 of an inch or less. I'm not sure that is a good thing. Should I also
use some cleats down through this padding to stabilize the mirror?
