A great cover would be a small stuff sack for camping.  They are made of
waterproof or water resistant nylon, so they have no lint, and they have
drawstrings with cord locks.  They are made in a huge variety of sizes down
to about 6x6" or a bit less.
The Crown Royal bag sounds good, too, but beware of the method used to
empty it.  I've found that it takes an amazingly small amount of this bag's
contents to destroy the collimation of my binoculars.  (Oddly, they return
to proper collimation the next night without adjustment)
