If a rifle that is in that range of accuracy is acceptable to you, I
have no disagreement at all. I'm more into something that shoots with
more accuracy than that. If I had an enemy soldier coming at me to kill
me, I personally would want something that would put one single round
into a much smaller group, even on out past 300 yards. And sometimes the
enemy that's shooting at you might not be an 18" target if he was laying
down or shooting from behind some obstruction.
Everybodies got choices as to what they would trust their life with in
a battle rifle. As for me, give me an M-1, a bandoleer of loaded clips
and a good sharp Ka-Bar, a canteen of water, plus a bottle of Tabasco
to go on what food I had and I'd feel pretty safe and confident that I
had what was needed. I feel pretty confident with an M-1 after being
trained and qualified with it. After all it did allright for itself in
WWII and Korea. To me it doesn't get much better than that in a battle
rifle. ;)
