RM> We spend about $4500 per person on RM> healthcare now. Add dental and that would probably go up a noticable RM> amount so you'd best be ready for even higher taxes. RM> Also keep in mind that any cost 'per person' is probably close to RM> doubled if you want to use cost 'per tax payer' instead.. AI>We need to pay for it one way or another, out of our pocket or out of our >taxes. I'm not sure what is the best route to go. What I have found is, when you are single, any 'plan' shafts you royally. If you have a family, the bigger the better, you clean up on it. Back when I worked for other people and had a company health plan with half of the actual cost of the plan payed by the company my part of the payment was still higher than if I just paid cash to have everything done, dental, eyeglasses, prescriptions.. Guys with 2 or 3 kids were raving about how great the plan was.. AI>I lean toward paying out of our taxes so noone gets left behind. In a perfect world.. What really happens is that it's too expensive so they drop the level of care for everyone so that no matter what your income you still get sub-standard care unless you choose to pay for everyone else's with your taxes and then pay for your own on top of that.. Oops.. Do I sound cynical ?? B) AI>My situation is the opposite. I need to replace my glasses every few years so >I pay it. I can't afford to get my teeth done so it doesn't happen. That's pretty close to where I am too.. Just made an appointment to see the dentist but only because I discovered an obvious cavity. I probably should have gotten new glasses 2 years ago but my eyesight isn't so bad with these that it's critical.. --- * SLMR Rob * You can win ANY game if YOU get to make the Rules * * PDQWK 2.52 #17 --- GTMail 1.26* Origin: Capitol City Online * 502/875-8938 * cco.ath.cx (1:2320/105.0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 249/303 250/306 SEEN-BY: 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 SEEN-BY: 2320/105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 2320/105 261/38 633/260 267 |
