Amen to that! Hugh got .333 bullets made for him from Barnes, but it
took a long time to get them so another of our bunch, a machinist,
made a swage to reduce .338 bullet down to .333. We used an arbor
press at first, but found out that a RCBS rockchucker had enough
mechanical advantage at the end of the stroke to nibble away and push
the bullet through. These swaged-down bullets were surprisingly
accurate for having undergone such a messy procedure. We all agreed
that a .338-06 would be the way to go if you were starting from
scratch, but Hugh already had the .333-06 picked up in a trade and it
was sort of a challenge to make good with it... and he
certainly did!
