NS> I like the trailblazers. I wish that they would have taken the
NS> Lakers out of the play offs. I mean the Lakers had a bad record with
NS> them anyway so it was kinda like they just sorta joked, huh? I don'y
 NS> know.
The Lakers make my skin crawl. But, the Blazers were not as good a
team as them last year, and it would have been a surprise (albeit a
great one) had they won that series.
NS> I hate to say this about Kemp but, well, he's not very
NS> bright, he didn't go to collge.
College education is not an indicator of intelligence. It's largely
an indicator of the means to get there and the study habits and
willpower to get through it. I was a *highly* recruited high-school
graduate, and I still don't have my degree 11 years later. That
does not mean that I'm any less intelligent now than I was then.
Same with Kemp. I don't know him, and I'd not presume to judge his
intelligence based solely on his education.
NS> But o.k. If it were true, then why would all the Sonics be so
NS> mad about it. I mean Vecsey got the biggest reaction from
NS> people like Shrempf. What's that all about. Now I thought
NS> that who ever gave Vecsey the lead had to be at an all player
NS> meatin. Last time I checked there weren't any girls on the
NS> team and there were no nosy Vecsey people in Seattle.
Because it came at a VERY inopportune time for the team. Had it
been totally untrue, there would have been a lawsuit. And if you
think that people involved in the team's workings don't hear what
goes on, you are very naive. How often do you hear what happened at
work, even if you weren't there. I hear things every day. Why
should a basketball franchise be any different than any other
business? There are no girls on the team, but apparently there is a
Vecsey relative working there. This from the reporters who cover
the NBA in the northwest.
NS> Who is your fav. Trailblazer?
Rasheed Wallace, I think. Although he's not been here long enough
yet to definitely be my favorite. It was Drexler. But, he's no
longer a Blazer. Still one of my favorite players, though. The big
problem with the team nowadays is that they have very little
involvement with the community. It used to be that Terry Porter,
Drexler, Kersey, Buck Williams, etc. were very involved with the
city, and we all loved them for that. These guys don't give us the
time of day (with a couple exceptions). I met Cliff Robinson in
Tower Records once, and he was pretty cool. And Kevin Duckworth
(ex-Blazer, of course) signed an autograph for my wife right out of
the blue while standing in a line at the grocery store. That sort
of thing is very appreciated and in very short supply any more.
