Hello Janis. 29 Sep 05 17:07, you wrote to me: >> Any one doing much with phpBB, and fido connectivity? >> A Linux magazine I had a quick look at rates it very highly as a >> BBS/Forum system. I can't imagine it would be so JK> rough to do, but there is the "time" factor :( Maybe as things slow JK> down here with family.. it would be great :) Have been trying to download it, since Wednesday evening, have now just gotten phpbb-2.0.17, current internet connectivity is barely useable, cannot even load my ISP's home page, and with a bit of persistance, I can collet e-mail, binkd works better, but transfer speeds of 0.092KB/s are not uncomman, am on my third report ticket with the local telco "Telkom" or as some would have it, Telskum, or Hellkom, in as many days. Mantaining a 10-15 minute connect is almost impossible. Would like to be able to get php, mysql to support it, but so far that is mission impossible. I am just currently wasting a great deal of money trying.
