I would have too but the thing had 250,000 +++ miles on it when I turned it
into a tractor. I ran it in the swamp pulling sleds full of logs for two or
three years. Then one day the front end went through the ice. It was late
and I was forced to wait till the next day to get it out. Overnight it sunk
deeper and then froze into place. We spent two or three days trying to get
it out and when we finally did we had bent the frame under the front doors.
I removed the rear body and hauled idrt with it for another year or two and
then parked it. I was going to rebuild it as a pickup but it was too far
gone. I have since taken the rear wheels and put them under my log
splitter. The only thing worth looking at is the tranny and engine and even
those are probably so worn that they are worthless. Now the 84 was a piece
of junk from the day i bought it. It is parked with a new engine, and
transfer case. The carb and mufflers are new. It even had a fresh coat of
paint. The transmission started pissing out oil and I parked it. Never even
looked under it to see where it leaked.
I hated that thing with a passion. 7000 in repairs in one year and she had
the nerve to break again. I never did and never will buy a Jeep again. I
have bought two rangers, 1 toyota and 2 subarus since. And if ford don't
wise up I will be buying a new toyota pickup as soon as this ranger that I am
running now croaks. Now if I could find the 67 GMC that I want well maybe I
will think American Truck Again....BTW the GM is on strike up here.
