Now it might be that someone makes a tile with the soft guts and only porcelain glaze, so you would want to be careful about that. Usually, the cogniocenti say you should get unglazed porcelain tile intended for floors. This is pretty much guaranteed to be the good stuff. Just don't get tile with a non-skid surface.
