I knew of someone who did something along the same lines.
Long waiting list for care facilities so they took Granny into
the hospital and dropped her off saying they were worried about
her state of mind, and then basically refused to pick her up
again and the hospital was forced to find a place for her.

I mentioned to him that this was great for them but that they took
the place of someone 'honestly' waiting their turn so it wouldn't
be so good for someone else. He never really talked to me again,
I suppose for not agreeing that his family was a whole lot more
important than everyone else's..
