Good muskox above! On 02-20-98, JOHN MCALPIN was
talking to MELISSA YING about FD DEFIBS?...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JM>Down here in Austin Texas it's very common. Both our County First
Responder
>and the Austin Fire Dept use semi-automatic defibrillators. Then when we
pu
>up we can just unplug their pads and they plug right into our Lifepack 11.
>Pretty nice deal.
That's handy. :)
JM>I'd have to say the semi-auto defibs are pretty common place in the Texas
ar
>all in all.
>There even was a State Bill up for putting the SADs "everywhere" and to
make
>them common place for laypeople. Like putting them next to all fire
>extinguishers. It got shot down though.
I remember a lot of disgruntled chatter when people around here
heard about the airlines putting Fully automated defibs on board. But
people seem to have accepted the idea. And St. John Ambulance up here
is planning "defib" courses for laypeople as well. Seems to be still
not entirely accepted.
