Greetings...

I just built GNU Emacs 18.54 under VMS and I encontered a strange problem.
When you start it up and get placed in the *scratch* buffer, the default 
directory gets somehow set to "sh def".
pwd returns
Directory sh def 
and find file prompts with sh def.
I've seen a posting before on this but unfortunately I did not save it.
I've alo looked at the code and I can't find anything wrong with it.
